As a family of three (four if you count the dog) we aren’t strangers to hard work, which was a good thing when we bought Ganders Farm in 2012 at auction. The farm was a tip and needed a lot of work to get it to work for us and improvements still keep occurring. As a family we are made up as husband and wife and son, she does the soap making and dogs bodying, he does the financials and technical stuff, while William our son, chips in and gets involved whenever he can! As for the dog she does her best to help but is terrified of anything with horns, but she is always there to put a smile on your face when it all goes wrong, which it does quite a lot!
Our ice cream has values:-
We call it our ethos, in everything we do on the farm we refer back to it, for want of a better word the ethos is a set of rules if you like;
Does it need to be in there? if not its out!
Where has that come from? We spend a lot of time, and in many cases money trying to get the best ingredients even closer to the farm to reduce food miles, why bother you might ask, well the closer it is the fresher it is when its used and that makes it taste better whilst also being better for the environment.
Could it be better? if we feel something has the chance to be better we will do everything we can to make that change!
This leads to ice cream with:
No artificial Colours (always confuses kids as our strawberry ice creams not bright pink!)
No Artificial Flavours all real!
Half The Calories*
Half the Fat*
Easier to Digest
No Cows in sight! (the only exception is salted caramel which has 10% cows milk who new you cant make salted caramel with straight goats milk?)
Less Food Miles as local as possible.
*compared to traditional ice cream.
