Cotesbach Educational Trust
Cotesbach (pronounced Coats-batch) Educations Trust (CET)…
A registered charity established in 2009, which hosts and provides learning opportunities focusing on Heritage, Environment, and the Arts. We have access to a unique family archive dating back over 400 years, which, thanks to an extensive cataloguing process, we can now share with the wider community. CET is managed by a Board of Trustees, a passionate team of volunteers and supported by a small part-time Executive team.
In 2012 we were awarded £672,700 from the Heritage Lottery Fund, together with smaller match funding amounts from a variety of funders, to restore three dilapidated buildings, create a second activity space and re-house our unique archive.
We have a 50 year lease on the buildings and archives from the Cotesbach Family Trust and our site comprises a restored Georgian Grade II listed Schoolhouse, toilets within the Victorian milking parlour, archive storage inside the Victorian coach house and the modern Glasshouse. The Schoolhouse and Glasshouse are available for hire.
We have a multi-purpose learning centre comprising an activity space/café (with an oak tree in its centre), a restored Grade II listed Georgian Schoolhouse, and a temperate archive containing over 400 years of archival documents (designated of ‘significant national importance’ by the National Archives).
We provide learning opportunities for all. We are passionate about what we do and looking forward to welcoming you.
Educational visits for schools, visitors, and families in the subjects of heritage, environment and arts and crafts, all inspired by our unique Archive. We also host learning opportunities with a variety
of partners. Our stunning buildings are also available for hire.
